Finally, no more projects. Week 7 of this term comes to a close, and I handed in the Purchasing "Menu Design" project this morning. Had to create a full menu, including appetizers, salads, ten entrees, veg, potatoes, pastas, and desserts. The entrees all had to be calculated prices, but the others were "market" values (i.e. pulled them out of my backside). Not terribly hard, but just time-consuming. Was the end of the world for some students however. I just left it to the last minute (as per usual).
This Monday, Princess turns six. Tomorrow, I make cupcakes and cream puffs for her formal tea party on Sunday. Omnomnom.

OK, might as well get this all done now...
Friday
- Apartment
- Left work 15 mins late, panicking that the office was gonna close. Turns out they were open until 6pm. :)
- Signed the lease, got the keys, still mesmerized by having thrown out that much cash when it's almost as much as we haven't been able to pay as a mortgage for the last 5 months...
- Party
- Left rental office and went to pick up pizza for TheBoy's birthday party.
- Pizza in car (zomg...fresh pepperoni pizza + Lenten observance = teh suck), head home.
- Ended up with four boys (three from my Boy Scout den, one neighbor's grandson).
- Yay for SpikeTV having SW:ANH on for the evening.
- Everything was an AMAZING success and the boys laughed and had a ball.
Saturday
- Moving Day
- Boys fed
- Non-children shuffled out of house
- Phone call...."Yes, this is Remax...the agent showing your house wondered if we could back off the showing to 12:30 from 11am?"
- Why certainly! Just let me call five different people and let them know our day is even MORE screwed up.
- Another phone call later..."Hey, can we also show your house at 1:30 on Sunday?"
- Yes, that's now two showings on Sunday in addition to the one Saturday.
- We pack stuff up, sweep, vacuum, quick mop of the floor, and boogie out to the apartment.
- Come back at 1:30 and start hauling stuff with Ceraun, FIL (who mostly just was our non-assisting truck driver for the day), a friend from our church, and a guy who my Mom recruited from her church to help.
- By the end of the day, we at least achieved my goals:
- Beds
- Dressers
- Dining room table & chairs
- Entertainment center
- Washer & Dryer
- My PC & Desk
- Shelves for my desk
- By end of day...still no phone / interwebs
Sunday
- Two showings, still cleaning up from moving...no church
- After the showings, I head back solo, grab nearly everything on a hanger from our closet (and some items on the shelves)
- Still no phone (been borrowing Mom's phone all weekend)
Monday
- Ceraun comes and assists with more large-item hauling (with FIL driving again)
- Spare fridge
- Freezer
- Living room chairs
- Kitchen Counter of Doom
- My big comfy chair
- Kid's toy drawers
- Phone turned on in AM, DSL active by afternoon
- Ceraun sticks around to OMGthirty to tweak my PC, and to dump all my MP3's from his backup hard drive (from when they nuked them from orbit at ThePit)
Tuesday
- I'm totally running on fumes here. I'm forgetting where I work, what my role in life is. I'm a professional mover who only moves items out of one house. I live to pick up things and move them.
- Today, dishes, more clothes, boxes of whatever else I can grab.
- With the internet turned on, I realize as I check my email from Roxyrose that I haven't thought about Zejan and his problems all weekend long.
- Partly feel good that I've been able to focus on other things, partly feel like shit as a friend.
- Apparently, someone posted bail for him (my guess is Disodium)
Wednesday
- I descend further into madness with forgetting I do have another job outside of moving out of the house.
- I take today off again, Mom and I moving out a bunch of more stuff.
- Wifey comes by later after other errands and assists. Carload and two vanloads.
I am spent.
I tried to get into WoW for a bit, and I'm burned out. Tomorrow I go back to ThePit. Part of me looks forward to it for a break from moving stuff, the other part of me realizes...it's still ThePit.
I'll probably embellish on the above tomorrow as I get a clearer head, but for now...I must sleep.

Well, we managed to survive 10 children rampaging throughout the house this weekend. TheBoy and Princess had their carnival/fair birthday party. TheBoy had 3-4 friends from school (and one's older sister who helped us), and one from the neighborhood. Princess, not being in school, and three girls from the neighborhood over.
We gave out tickets to the kids at the start, and they were used to play games that we had set up throughout the house to play.
- Duck Game
- Fishing Game
- Ring Toss
- Bowling
- Bean Bag Toss
- Ping Pong Ball Toss
- (Temporary) Tattoo Parlor (no ticket price)
The kids were a little unsure at first, but soon they were tearing around our house like they were at a real carnival.
For food we served corndogs and hotdogs (in the little paper trays even) and also fries served in cups. (It's also funny to note that since TheBoy and I consume so much ketchup, we have one of those big square ketchup containers with the pump top. Added to the feel nicely.) Later on with the cake, we served up some of my homemade ice cream.
For three and a half hours I was spent. By the time guild night in WoW concluded (~11:30pm), I was whipped! We closed things up and I said, "Okay, I'm go sleep now."
