- I've just spoke with the Ufficio del personale in Hassler and I received the necessary details about your documents. They are going to register you for the stage with the necessary insurances but you need a permesso di soggiorno for studio.
- Our last agreement is not able to solve your situation.
- If you like to obtain your stage in Hassler, you have to apply for a Study Visa.
- It means that you have to register for more than 90 days, even if you stay in Rome for less period. So, the minimum period that you have to consider for the Study Visa is for 4 months.
- At this point you don't have to talk with Italian Consulate about your plans, but only say that you are going to register for an Italian language course for 4 months. Otherwise you cannot obtain the Study Visa.
- The minimum course requested for the issue of a Study Visa is an intensive course of 4 lessons a day, 20 lessons a week.
- The name of this course – at our CLI Dante Alighieri – is the G8 course (from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 12.15, for an amount of 80 lessons per month).
- According to the rules of our school, in order to enrol and receive an enrolment certificate from us you must do the following:
- Fill out the application form on the web page http://clidante.it/interna.php?pag=Enrollment-form&ln=1
- Fax the page of your passport with your personal details (+39 06 4423 1007) or the scanned copy by email
- Complete:
- the payment of the registration fee Euro 80
- the full payment of the G8 course fees for the first month, Euro 570
- the advanced payment of the 15% of the price on the course G8 (Euro 90) for the following months.
- For 4 months the price is:
- Euro 570
- + Euro 90 x 3 = Euro 270
- + Euro 80
- = Total amount Euro 920
- Since you are not going to attend this course you can spend the money for individual hours. In this case you can attend 26 individual hours.
- According to these information now you can decide about your registration with us.
- Kind regards
- FF

So, having tried to digest that -- and by digest, I mean my stomach churning all day -- I wrote the following to Chef S:
- I'm sure with the holiday rolling through, there are most likely several events going on around the estate, so I hope that you're able to catch this sometime soon.
- Unless circumstances change drastically in the next few days, I doubt highly that I will be able to make the externship. The attached email is a combination of the most affordable, best recommended, and most helpful course that I've found in my search. They went out of their way to contact the Hassler and find out exactly what was needed, and that most clearly is a study visa (as a student of their school) which will in turn grant me the permeso di soggiorno so that the Hassler's obligations are met.
- The cost of this school reaches somewhere around $1200 US (for a four-month period). From my previous research, a study visa requires proof of funds in the way of $700-1000 per month of stay expected, so that's approximately another $4000. This of course doesn't count my flight which is somewhere in the $950 range round trip. We were looking to pull money out of savings for this, but not this amount.
- We've been discussing this opportunity for a year now, but unfortunately, I just can't financially support something of this magnitude at this time...no matter how beneficial it would be to my future. I thank you for all the help and support you've given me with putting me in contact with the Hassler. If there is a way that I can find to do it in the future, I will see if the opportunity is still available.
- Sincerely,
- Me
And now, I'm just a lot bit nauseous at the moment.

Of other major-cool-guy importance:
- Welcome to the beta test of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade!
- We’re excited to have reached the beta-testing stage for the expansion, and we’d be grateful to have your assistance in finalizing the content. There are a lot of new things to see and do in Azeroth and Outland, and we look forward to receiving any feedback you can offer on your overall expansion-beta experience, including quests, spells/abilities, monsters, zones, aesthetics, and more. We would also appreciate reports on any bugs you may find.
- Read on to learn how to participate, and thanks in advance for your support in helping us put the finishing touches on the expansion.

New Home! Many-much-thanks to Zejan for manually fixing the horrid dump file that D-U put out from the old site. So glad to be rid of them.
Now I have a weeks worth of blog updates to ante-update.

- Cable modem to PC: Blinkie lights. Avast! There be the IntarWeb! 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...PC is pwned by net pirates due to no router, firewall, or even a layer of tissue paper.
So, I am Webless at home and have (at last check) 200+ emails 79% of which are spam. :)

We are so screwed...maybe.
Now, my team may be OK, but it's definately time for Zejan to transfer his skills completely over to webslinging and drop the sysadmin stuff.
