2008

Me 10:50, 1 February 2008 (EST)

My schedule for the next several days:

  • Saturday
    • 9am-10am: Tae Kwon Do
    • 10am-10:30am: Barrel out to Ricart Ford
      • As it turns out, they finally called yesterday to say that yes, in fact, the boys will be able to come to the car lot, see their taping of their "used car show", and possibly be on-camera. WOOT!
    • Afternoonish: Grab food
    • 1pm: Run over to my Assistant Den Leader's house clear on the other side of town for a wood working shop to do everyone's Pinewood Derby cars.
    • 9pm: Guild Night
  • Sunday
    • Church...duh.
  • Monday - Wednesday
    • The Great Purge: No going into the office.
  1. Rent a storage unit.
  2. Cart everything out of the garage
  3. Move the stuff from the rest of the house we couldn't move out before because the garage was full into the garage.
  4. Potentially rent a dumpster for a day or two to empty all the lumber and other crap that's in the basement.

This is going to be a long five days. Must be done though.

2007

Me 11:45, 1 February 2007 (EST)

So, I had to start an e-mail to my cousin that started thusly:

It appears then that once again, I have ascended my high horse of internet superiority for all the town to see me......while I wear a "JERK!" sign taped to my back. One of these days (probably when I'm dead) I'll realize to not send e-mails before thinking...especially if someone might not be used to my sense of humor / sarcasm. We've never talked that much since we've grown up, so that might have something to do with it

She had sent me one of those forwards of forwards of forwards, and I had asked that she not send them to me. Apparently, not only did it hurt her, but also dredged up memories that we had forgot to send them a card/congratulations on their wedding. Their wedding which happened to be October 7. Yeah, right after my brother's wedding. So, I had to go through it all over again, all the while apologizing for having slighted her.

As it turns out, I'm not the only one in the family who had practically ignored their wedding, and in the end of the e-mail, she just needed to vent. I did a bit too about the issue of my own, and it felt good because she's the first family member from Mom's side of the family that knows about it all.

Who knows, maybe I'll have found a new friendship in my cousin after all these years (now that she's growed up).

So I realized I've told at least Lawgirl, just told Heather, and may or may not have told Callistana, but I've yet to post it here.

I feel guilty (a bit).

A couple weeks ago, I gathered the courage to talk to Wifey about my feelings on the bread business. Great right? Except now, it's sunk in to her and seeing how much I want her to succeed with this, she cries a bit whenever I show my support with the Tastefully Simple stuff. She said that the reason is that I'm being so supportive, but that she wasn't when I was trying to do something similar. She choked up a bit, and I could see tears welling up a little.

It sucks when you get what you want sometimes.
