So, I gotta say, that as far as birthday weeks go, this week was pretty damn awesome.

    Teh Cake of Doooooom
    We each get a cake to decorate in class. This is our one and only day to decorate cakes in the entire term. As I stand there on February 8, I realize: this is my birthday cake and proceed to go batshit crazy with doing this thing up:
    • Butter cream icing around the whole cake
    • Blueberries
    • Strawberries
    • White Cake (nom)
    • White chocolate mousse
    • Halved blackberries
    • Raspberry filling
    • White Cake (more nom)
    • Milk chocolate mousse
    • Strawberries
    • Milk chocolate mousse
    • Chocolate Cake
  • Then of course, I get to take said cake home.  :)
• Tuesday (Meh Birthday)
  • Snowpocalypse hits Central Ohio and much of the eastern half of the country.
  • ...and school gets called off early at 1pm. Day off early on my birthday = win!
• Wednesday
  • At school, nothing terribly major. After school, go out with Mom, MIL and FIL and the family for dinner at this new Asian restaurant in Grovetucky.
    • Nice food.
    • Crappy service.
    • Sushi goooood.
• Thursday
  • International class has their daily buffet (which incidentally kicks of right as our kitchen lets out)
    • On the menu? Japanese! mOaR sUsHi!
• Friday
  • Garde Manger has their usual Friday buffet (nom)
  • International...no buffet due to practicals. However, the results of practicals are pilfered around Sushi day three!!!!
  • Also, on Thursday we prepared cheesecakes and then decorated and brought them home Friday. Cheesecake nom!!!!

So yeah. Good week. Next week, I have a project due for Purchasing that I've been a complete Slackerpants™ on so far. Shouldn't take me long as I got a purchasing guide from GFS to complete it. Also due is our persuasion paper for composition. My first paper (the observation paper) was a paltry 95 which he said we could treat as a first draft and revise to improve our grade. I'm taking full advantage of it.

One more thing though regarding today: A year ago today, life was hell. All of the stuff of early last year started on the Saturday of Valentine's day. It puts things into perspective about how much life has changed for me in the last year. Rereading my paper kinda showed me that, and baking term in general has as well.

With that said, I'll just leave you with my observation paper. You all are used to my writing. My Comp teacher put the following next to my grade, "Always compelling writing". Nice to know I still got It.

This whole "Having work to do" thing is for the birds. How can I be expected to reasonably run a WoW guild, a Tiger Cub den, and wander around the internet if I have projects to work on? How about at least giving me some slow transition from nothing to do to just blamo! now.

Oh yeah, so more clandestine meetings with Asian IT guy. It was about his whole reporting environment dream we've been having meetings about for like two years. It might come to fruition this time because the new CIO Khrushcheved that everything in the company -- which is the whole company, all divisions -- will be Microsoft based. That means MS SQL Server, not this crazy off-site Oracle backend that I have do manual downloads from. It'll be using MS Reporting services and all kinds of other stuff I have no clue about.

End Summary: New skillz. Appreciation at work? Maybe.
