My outlook regarding today: absolutely insane.
By tomorrow morning, another 7-9" of snow will be hitting us. Right now, I have to leave for school. I also have a dentist appointment at 2:50. For all I know I'm going to leave for school, and be sent home early. If that's the case, I'll have to make the judgment call about skipping the dentist...again. If they don't send us home early, I'm leaving at 2:20 anyway...and still make that judgment call.
This is gonna be a helluva day.

And what a helluva day it was. Snowpocalypse III has arrived.
School got called at 2:30, although I had to leave at 2:20 for my dentist appt. Twenty-five minutes later, I called the dentist and said no way. It was 2:45 and I was in a parking lot; would have been easily another twenty minutes before I'd be able to get there.
But that wasn't the worst bit of the day.
- No Weekly Claims can currently be filed
- You have exhausted your Total Benefits Payable
End of the gubment checks? Quite possibly. Of course, today is a government holiday, so I couldn't do anything to check into it. I got a notice last week that I may have available to me a Federal extension, but there was NOTHING in that to say, "Hey, your benefits are ending with this week, FYI."
School is all but shut down tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a call in to unemployment. Otherwise, I may be brushing up that resume sooner than expected.

I swore I had a legitimate post to make here while I was driving to work, but it kind of eludes me at the moment.

I am going to die.
For lunch today, we were going to go to little Greek place we've gone to a number of times. I can typically find stuff even on Fridays there, so I'm cool with it. Prices are decent, and the food is good.
I mention that we were heading to Greek for lunch, and my friend says, "You're going to the best Greek in the area, right?" "Uhh...where's that?" "The Big Fat Greek Kuzina!" A bit of discussion with the council (Ceraun and the old team), and we're go for the new place.

Best Greek food I've ever had in my life. Must get a night there with Wifey.

All hail the OTC, for his music is good, his humor brilliant, his presence desired in Columbus!

- Certainly he has some great skills, but, without casting aspersions on him, these are skills that any software programmer would have after 6 months in the field.
- These are the JUNIOR level skill set traits that any developer would have.
- I could get him a job, but not at the rate he is probably at right now. He would make about 30 - 40K in the cruel, hard world out there.
- Is that a help??
- Classes are expensive. Usually on the order of $2500 for a week.
- I could certainly teach him, but the problem is, he doesn't have recent, practical experience on a job.
- Even if he were to get M$ certifed, the first thing a hiring manager is going to look for is 3 - 4 years of experience. Sometimes 2, if they are looking for a Jr programmer.
- Now, if you can put together a resume, I can wave in front of my contacts in Cols, and if he wants, the ones I have up here.
This is from Lawgirl's boyfriends perusal of my resume and skills. Nothing at Revelation level here. At least what I've assumed for years -- that this place has trained me and more importantly paid me to be only one thing: their employee -- I have to figure out where to go now.

So, it really hit me tonight that I never heard back from my doctor as to whether or not they were going to be able to have the insurance company pay for my shots. What this in turn means is that I never got the prescription filled. Today is/was the 15th. I was supposed to get my shot today. I'm running unleaded. That is ungood.
With realizing when I got home tonight that Wifey had a meeting for Tastefully Simple, I am ungood.
With staying 2 hrs later than normal at the pit than I normally do (even though I was an hour and a half late), I am ungood.
With the post above from Lawgirl's BF, I'm ungood.
With an e-mail from The Overlords at the pit, we're not getting any bonus because "the transportation market was week in 4th quarter". For that, I am ungood.
With having to deal with an e-mail about former employees not being able to be anywhere but at the lobby and cafeteria, and I inquiring how this affects my wife and kids visiting my desk, I was ungood.
With getting into work an hour and a half late because I just can't bear to go into this damnable place any more...I am ungood.

And Lawgirl, my apologies if I was short with you when you dropped by. The kids really enjoyed playing with the dog. :)

Downtime...WTH?
And here I thought I didn't pay my bill.
Oh wait, I haven't paid a bill since October. (Looks up to intersky for netlightning strikes.)
