Guild Night Events:Size

From my brain

By all means, START OUT SMALL. Unless you're a massive guild already that's willing to blow lots of coin, you're not going to be able to give out fab-o prizes. Our GL just told me the other day how that in our first server-event (Early 2005, before I joined even), the "big winner" got a Runecloth Bag.

At our event a few weeks ago, we gave out a bit more. Guildies poured in mats like I've never seen (and this is our third server-wide party). For instance, we needed an obscene amount of silk for costumes (something like 900 BOLTS of silk). A bunch of people pitched in what they had on hand, but more amazing were the people who took the time out of their questing, instance runs, grinding to go farm up SM Graveyard.

Basically: A small guild isn't going to accomplish stuff of this magnitude easily (whether for themselves or for their server). Start small. Make a good event, give a DECENT prize, but don't try to over extend yourself (or your guild's resources) and people WILL have fun.
