I can't believe that I've never had a single post on New Year's Day.
I want to say 2009 holds lots of promise. In reality though, it holds more prospects for the same. It's dreary, it's emo, and depressing, but try as I may, I can't seem to break out of this pattern.
Looking back through this blog, I keep having the same cycle. I get excited because I might get out of ThePit, things look great, and my mind swims in the possibilities. Then, someone lets all the water out of he pool.
It's not that I'm going to keep trying. (I'm entirely too stubborn for that.) It's just so wearying to keep your hopes up day after day, week after week...or year after year that things will improve.

The world is just getting...weird.
Wifey just reminded me that earlier this morning we heard a word I'd never thought to be used in that context. To those in the gaming community, hearing the word "über" doesn't even phase you. "Über-l33t", "Über-epix", and all other things über (ok, it'll be just uber cuz no one knows to use the ü) are just commonplace.
However, I was not prepared for: "Our new maxi pads with uber absorbency."
That my friends...is just plain weird.
