I, Jean-Baptiste Rodriguez Marchesi Frankfurt Ping-Pong Cortez have braved the frozen tundra...and have arrived at ThePit...only 2.5 hrs of my "start time" of 7am. Truthfully, I would have much preferred to say screw it and stay home, play WoW and not come in. I think with both TheBoy (who's still grounded until his room is clean) and Princess (who's been a holy terror lately), that motivated Wifey to come out and help me get out...she didn't want three kids at home.
My car was completely encased in ice 1/4 to 1/2 inch in thickness. I took some hot water out to try to melt it, but it only poured over and refroze. The van looked a little better, and so Wifey and I worked on that one. Put a pot of boiling water on the stove, and managed to pop it open. Left it run for a half hour while we shoveled and then I made the expedition north.
The roads weren't terribly bad. Weren't the best either, but there also wasn't much traffic. I completely avoided the major highways and stuck to the back roads. I made it here in about 30 mins. I'm an excellent driver.
The snow is still coming down like goats and sheep (Ceraun and I just had the conversation on that vs. "raining cats & dogs). We're all here hoping they'll shut us down by early afternoon.
I ain't holding my breath.

Also, in other news, Wifey may or may not have sprained her ankle while shoveling snow just now. I made sure she's taking care of it properly, but we'll see how it goes.
If she had only let me stay home and slack off, she wouldn't have been out there, and wouldn't have a bum ankle. Shows her for making me come to work!

Moving hell. No, I'm not talking about the house. The office. Once again, they're in the process of reorganizing the department structure around here and that means we play musical chairs. I've moved probably ten times in 14 years, and that's not an exaggeration.
