Me 11:32, 3 January 2008 (EST)

Had half the morning off so I could get an ultrasound of my liver. Endo thought the liver enzymes were a tad high (wouldn't be the first time I've been told that), so he wanted to check it out. I go in, get gooped up and checked. I told her I didn't want to know if it was a boy liver or a girl one.

In the meantime, TheBoy was off at the doctor getting an asthma test. Guess who gets to use an inhaler? Yup. He's got "moderate asthma". Not mild, but not advanced or anything, just moderate.

Yays.

2007

I'm going to die today. TheBoy first woke around 11-11:15. Screaming. I only barely heard him over Princess's monitor in her room, but I ran up from the basement (with hasty goodbyes to guildies) to his room.

He was coherent (shocking as he usually isn't when he wakes like that), but had no idea why he woke up. Didn't remember having a bad dream. Didn't hear a noise. Just woke up. (I think he coughed himself awake, but that's only because of later.) I calmed him down, and he crawled back into bed and seemed to go back to sleep.

I pick out my clothes for today, and sit down to read the daily bible assignment (got an Orthodox Study Bible for Christmas; "Read the New Testament in a Year" processes in-progress), and then he starts crying again. I go get him, and he says he wants mommy. Doesn't whine, just asks for her. She's of course not home yet, so I tell him to climb in bed with me until she arrives. He does, and seems to go to sleep.

Mommy comes home and puts him back in bed. He wakes up again in the middle of the night (multiple times?), but won't sleep. And so climbs in with us. I then get poked and prodded, listen to him whine in his sleep, and deal with Wifey saying, "At least you got to fall asleep without the kids waking you," to which I replied, "Oh yeah, woken up twice in the first hour and a half of my five hours?"

I'm functioning on caffeine alone. No fumes. Pure Mt. Dew.

Considering last night, it was kind of appropriate that my friend Phantom sent me an article for those of you who want to know, Are You Ready To Have Kids?
