Had an absolute blast today as Roxyrose and I hit the moves & dinner today.
At least two months ago, she mentioned she was going to be coming to visit her dad up in Michigan. That's about a three hour drive for us, but we thought about it: what if there's a half way point. We found one and picked out someplace for dinner. Then, after further thought, for driving an hour and a half...isn't just dinner a waste? Movies it is!
We kicked off the day grabbing a quick bite to eat at Denny's. Great place for an ice breaker. Just like any of the other guildies I've met, there's this weird nervousness -- no matter how much you've spent talking in-game -- that's just there when you first meet. Yay for food to bring people together. We rambled about guild stuff, ate, and then jitters went away and we laughed, paid our bill, and headed off to the movie.
I'm beat, so here's the synopsis for the day:- Angelina Jolie is absolutely smoking hot.
- Go see Wanted. It's highly doubtful you'll find another three-way combo of The Bourne Identity, Remo Williams, and Office Space...well...ever.
- Angelina Jolie is absolutely smoking hot...even if her role in a movie is just support.
- Roxy my dear, you're an impulse shopper. There's a support group for you. (I do believe that Olive Garden would serve a white wine with a dish of Paolo Nutini.)
- How Findlay, OH has a Japanese restaurant that's that good in a mall of that sucky-size is beyond me. Phenomenal meal. (Very potent green tea ice cream mind you.)
- Six hours is too short of time to spend with a friend who lives five states away and you'll probably only see twice a year.
I've already canceled guild night tonight because I wasn't sure I'd make it home. As Wifey spent the day at a barely-profitable garage sale at the house while I was out laughing, eating tasty food, and watching movies, I'm gonna take advantage of the night off and spend time with her.
It is her birthday tomorrow after all. :)
I never got a card, or flowers, and we can't afford a full family outing for a nice dinner (before you ask: today was paid for by a gift card I got for Father's Day), so I think we might do a movie after church. WALL-E sounds and looks awesome. :)

So, it used to be here on this lovely blogspace that I spent any posts relating to work as angry rants about how completely and totally screwed up this place was, that I hated it, and that I needed to get the hell out of here. I'm not that upset any more now that the meds have kicked in, and while I still need to get out of here, it's for different reasons.
I'm bored out of my ever-loving mind!!!!!111eleventy I just can't stand screwing around on-line all day. I have combed through my ITunes library, and am still working through a collection of 3000+ mashups that Phantom brought in.
That is how I spend the day. It's not the ridiculous requests of users. It's not the idiocy of management (well, they are idiots with the exception of my boss, but that's another story). It's just the boredom is really getting to me.
You can only screw off so much before you have a lack of pride at the end of the day.
