And still...no pain.

Feeling good...in a couple ways now.

I just posted the donation to the charity that the guild has sponsored for the last few months. The donation totals we received were absolutely overwhelming, and beyond being proud of the guild itself, it just does a heart good to be able to donate to such a worthy cause.

The charity was Support Military Working Dogs. Their Mission:
To provide cooling vests and other protective gear such as Doggles, MuttLuks, and any other necessary gear to help the Military Working Dogs in Iraqs extreme conditionswho in turn protect and serve our Soldiers.

The result? Here's the email I just sent them:

Hello Starline,
Wait, how much?

Wait, how much?
I wanted to drop you an email to let you know that I have just made a deposit into your PayPal account our charity drive's final total: $965.00! I believe that's three full sets of gear for our furry soldiers and a baby step toward a fourth.
We would love to also be visible on your Organizations page. If the following is too much, let me know and I'll shorten it, but I think this adequately describes us:
Sleeper Cartel - A World of Warcraft Guild
www.sleepercartel.com
High school and college students, executives, housewives, teachers, military personnel, and the occasional grandmother or two are all a part of our organization in what some may view as "just a video game". Sleeper Cartel is much, much more. Sleeper Cartel...is family.
If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call. My number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. As it turns out, I'm closer to you than you might think. I live in xxx, OH near Columbus. If it wasn't for PayPal, I might have been able to just drive out passed Springfield and hand you the check in person!
You have a wonderful charity going here, and on behalf of the rest of the membership of Sleeper Cartel, thank you for all you are doing for our military personnel...whether two footed or four.  :)
Sincerely,
Me

Way to go guys. I can't express how proud I am to be a member of SC some days...

Me 08:07, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Other than the fact that our bank still doesn't show that our taxes are in, I really have nothing to post.

All is calm. All is bright (again, except for trying to figure out how to pay the rent).

Me 08:08, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

In other news, to all you JoCo fans...happy First of May. Unless it's as chilly out as it is here, hope you get a chance to celebrate.  :)

(9:55:12 AM) Wifey: Well the good news is that we will still get a refund
(9:55:30 AM) Me: will it be your birthday before we get the money?
(9:55:32 AM) Wifey: The bad news is we gave them the wrong routing number so it will take another 2 to 3 weeks
(9:55:37 AM) Me: WHAT
(9:55:52 AM) Me: damn it
(9:55:53 AM) Wifey: We had an extra number in the routing
(9:56:03 AM) Wifey: So now they have to process it manually
(9:56:08 AM) Me: crap
(9:56:11 AM) Wifey: It will be a physical check
(9:56:24 AM) Me: damn it
(9:56:26 AM) Me: damn it
(9:56:27 AM) Me: damn it
(9:56:40 AM) Wifey: And on top of that the rebate check will not process now until the refund is straightened out
(9:56:58 AM) Wifey: so that will be 2 to 3 weeks after the refund
(9:57:06 AM) Me: so, how much is the refund then?
(9:57:12 AM) Me: and how much is the rebate?
(9:57:37 AM) Wifey: refund is still x
(9:57:55 AM) Wifey: I guess the rebate is 600.00 or whatever it was to be
(9:58:04 AM) Wifey: It's just that we have to wait for it
(9:58:05 AM) Me: cool
(9:58:14 AM) Me: i was afraid that the 600 was part of the refund
(9:58:39 AM) Wifey: No it's two separate things
(9:59:16 AM) Wifey: But we are screwed until next month
(9:59:21 AM) Me: yeah
(9:59:28 AM) Me: i'll just use it to go out drinking while you guys are gone
(9:59:33 AM) Me:  :)
(9:59:46 AM) Wifey: lol
(10:00:07 AM) Wifey: You will not get a chance
(10:00:10 AM) Me: Slap a twenty on the ass of some chick up at that Dreamgirls place
(10:00:24 AM) Wifey: That better not happen!
(10:00:26 AM) Wifey: :)

(10:01:09 AM) Wifey: Who did you talk to at the bank
(10:01:21 AM) Me: some random CSR chick
(10:01:29 AM) Wifey: The IRS said they cannot start the process until the money comes back to them
(10:01:48 AM) Wifey: Should you call the bank and tell them what routing number we did give so they can send it back?
(10:01:59 AM) Me: what's the routing number we gave?
(10:03:00 AM) Wifey: I'm sorry, we gave the wrong account number
(10:03:33 AM) Wifey: We gave xxxxxx0xxx. We added a 0
(10:03:57 AM) Me: that's just weird
(10:04:07 AM) Me: it said, "is this your account number?"
(10:04:14 AM) Me: because this is where it sent last year
(10:04:39 AM) Wifey: But I sort of remember having a problem last year
(10:04:49 AM) Wifey: That is why I said we should check it
(10:04:59 AM) Wifey: But you said no everything was ok last year
(10:05:09 AM) Wifey: So I thought I was wrong

(10:05:29 AM) Me: OK, well, at least we'll have the money for the rent next month
(10:05:38 AM) Me: we have car insurance due though now
(10:05:41 AM) Wifey: Exactly
(10:05:49 AM) Me: gather up as many of those coupons as you can
(10:05:56 AM) Wifey: Well, I put the money from MIL in this morning
(10:05:57 AM) Me: see if we have enough for a full month's rent
(10:06:27 AM) Wifey: What is the full amount again
(10:06:38 AM) Wifey: And what are we going to do about the storage place?
(10:07:01 AM) Me: 1110
(10:07:02 AM) Me: crap
(10:07:03 AM) Me: that too
(10:07:40 AM) Wifey: Can you work on it this weekend and get all the stuff out?
(10:08:29 AM) Me: With FIL and the trailer maybe
(10:08:46 AM) Me: ...and skip going to TKD
(10:08:48 AM) Me: again
(10:12:44 AM) Wifey: The coupons equal 360.00
(10:12:50 AM) Me: shit
(10:12:57 AM) Me: damn it
(10:13:06 AM) Me: damn it damn it
(10:14:27 AM) Wifey: If you pull out the rest of the cash advance that would equal x^n
(10:14:41 AM) Wifey: Which would give us 150.00 for the next two weeks
(10:14:44 AM) Me: yeah
(10:15:04 AM) Wifey: But you will have to cancel all auto-bill payments
(10:15:23 AM) Me: damn it
(10:15:30 AM) Wifey: What day is the insurance payment due exactly?
(10:15:59 AM) Me: Yesterday
(10:16:17 AM) Me: there's a 7-day grace
(10:16:20 AM) Wifey: Can you call them to see if we can get an extention?
(10:16:31 AM) Me: Here?
(10:16:45 AM) Wifey: Right when you get home?
(10:16:51 AM) Me: Yeah, I'd rather do that

(10:23:03 AM) Wifey: You are right, it is going to rain all weekend
(10:23:26 AM) Me: It'll suit my mood.

Me 16:59, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Confirmed with the bank...they can't do diddly. Only thing to do is wait for the computers to bounce things back to each other.

Lovely.

Thanks to WoW, I was in bed by 10:30 last night (and out like a rock I believe). Their servers were wonky, so I just gave up and went to bed. The problem? My body feels like it went to bed at 2am instead.

As a side note, I remember when I first told Wifey about Zicam and she said something about there being reports about it killing your sense of smell. I think it may be right...but not as bad as that article states.

Everything yesterday (while I took the Zicam) tasted like I had brushed my teeth and then tried to drink a glass of orange juice. At first I thought it was because I had slept for awhile that evening with a Coldeeze in my mouth as my throat was so dry. Turns out both might have been the case as BOTH products are the same zinc compound.

I've yet to take any more Zicam today, and breakfast (and even my poop juice) tasted fine. If the cold symptoms creep back up, I'll take it again and see what happens.

2005

Me 10:01, 01, May 2005 (EDT)

Christ is Risen!

Okay, so none of you are Orthodox, but that's the traditional greeting with today being Easter. Thankfully, that means the fast is officially over. (Bonus: Normally all fasting is put aside for just a week following Pasca/Easter, but the Antichian Synod has stated that now we're to be "fast free" until Pentecost. Woot!)

Last night we had our midnight Liturgy which was to be followed by a feast...i.e., lots of meat dishes.  :) However, when we got to church (around 11), TheBoy fell right asleep after being a MONSTER in the carride there. Conversely, Princess never fell back to sleep and was a MONSTER for a good portion of the latter half of service.

We got home around 3am. Of course, with TheBoy sleeping, he still woke up at his usual 7:30. We told him no, you have to go back to sleep, whereupon he pouted into his room. That took an hour, so we laid back down.  :)

By the time he calmed down, he went down and found the Easter baskets, and so we all had to get up.

Naptimes will be ENFORCED this day!
