Well, the van is officially ours now. Okay, the title is in Wifey's name rather than in Ford's, and the lien is in Wells Fargo's name, but let's not split hairs.
During Sunday's rant, I neglected to mention that I went through a bit of therapy on Saturday. It's generational pop-culture therapy, and this was my version of it: Rocky Therapy.
My Uncle Ron gave me a occasional speeches on his version of generational pop-culture therapy, True Grit (and John Wayne in general). I'm almost certain there were two instances of it: once when he tried to get us to come to church, and the second time when Terra dumped me. He was a huge John Wayne fan, and still is to this day. John Wayne was a huge influence on his life and what it meant to be a man.
Movie-wise, Rocky does the same for me.
I know I watched Rocky III first before any of the others. By that time, it was 1982 and the franchise was well known. I went to see that first one with my Big Brother. He took me to that one as well as the fourth, but it wasn't until years later that I watched the first two films.
Back then, they were just entertaining. As I've gotten older however -- and been feeling like I'm getting beaten down by life -- I find myself identifying more and more with the spirit of Rocky. I remember a comedian once ridiculing a bunch of guys who loved Rocky when it first came out (and since), and pointing out, "He lost in the first movie!"
That's the point. Rocky is about pushing yourself beyond the potential that the majority of others see in you, and oftentimes beyond what you see in yourself. It's that coming from nothing, and working damn hard at something...but maybe getting beat down the first time.
Hey, Yo Adrian! Youse ready for da second movie now?

- @ luvin, there is gno betta rogue then yos truly.
- /necrobump
- First, I'm not denying what I did. I will state though that there was nothing malicious in what I was doing. In fact, over the several days I bumped posts on our realm forums -- and this was ONLY done on Perenolde's realm forums -- many people got a good bit of entertainment value out of it.
- Our realm forums have been very quiet. People were complaining daily to the fact that there was nothing going on. No PvP trash talking, to guild-on-guild drama, no loot ninjas. The community was getting bored and drying up.
- My intention with all of this was to bring back some of those old posts that maybe people had forgotten and perhaps entertain a few people. The posts that I had bumped often contained players that have quit post-BC. Sure, they were only posts a couple months old, but people were enjoying the nostalgia of seeing the names of their former guildmates.
- I would like to humbly request that my access be reinstated. On every other forum I participate in (and actually, on any character OTHER than the one reported in the "Re: Best rogue on the server?" thread), I'm an active, responsible member of the community. I'm very active on the Guild Relations forum and engage in many of the discussions that occur there.
- My "necrobumping" days can be considered done and over if we can go from a "once bitten, twice shy" standpoint and I will then cease any further activity in this area.
- Sincerely,
- Me

New game I'm considering trying out.
I'd probably suck at it though.
