Today is Nana's funeral. Aunt M. is a complete and total wreck. Uncle J is borderline. This is not going to be an easy day in the least.
Still, I can say that without a doubt, driving up here like crazy on Friday night was absolutely worth it. I spent so much quality time with my family this week, that I would have been at a severe loss today without having had it.

The funeral was very nice. Funeral director was absolutely amazing. It was great having the whole family there and be together to comfort each other.
At this point though, I'm so far beyond exhausted, I can't even type any more. I made the drive back here in like five hours flat (granted, from Batavia and not Dad's). Eight miles an hour, non stop...not even to pee (I've done so since).
Must sleep. Sleep in own bed good. *thud*

Words cannot express the sexay that I exude while wearing meh popcorn hat. While the picture at the right may come close (or show a woman about 2 seconds away from a grand mal seizure), I can assure you ladies that are reading this that I am without a doubt irresistible. Que guapo! My popcorn box came in last night apparently just in time for me to put the final order in on the popcorn pre-order for our "Show & Deliver" format. It was a complete and utter nightmare because in order to get an estimate and plan of what we'd need, I needed the budget for the year. Our treasurer has been laid up with a foot / leg injury and hasn't been able to do the budget yet. I didn't have the figures until yesterday...the last day to place the order.
After panicking trying to get everything calculated and put together, I go now to the website to place the order. I can't find it. I try the training videos. There I get all kinds of advice on how to motivate and whatnot, but absolutely nothing on "How To Place Your Popcorn Order". I finally get to where the entry is into the popcorn system...and it's telling me to use my "Leader Logon". O.O
I don't have one. In a flurry, I dig through the papers and track down the District Popcorn Kernel and he calms me down and sets up my account. Since we never did a S&D last year, he wasn't about to call me, and therefore, I didn't have a log in. Basically, it's good that I called him.
He also gave me advice on how much to order. As we only did about $5K in sales last year, he said I shouldn't order any more than $6K because we'll end up getting a call from the district head and be told NO! Basically, the district doesn't wanna get stuck with what they can't sell. So, they set a limit to how much you can order.
Anyway, once I had my log in name, ordering was a complete snap. The District Popcorn Kernel said to call him back later on in the week and he'll give me more of an idea of what to expect. Being that our Cubmaster isn't the Kernel, our previous Cubmaster was the Kernel and is now out of state, I have no real guidance. It's nice to know someone is out there.
Now, all I gotta do is put together a plan to decorate the hall for the "Kick-Off" this Friday.

First day of Jr. High here. You go from being big man on the totem pole in the elementary school to being the stuff the eighth grade scrapes off it's shoe.
Also, here begins six years of friendship with Michael Dellinger. My last name was Cut... and his was Del.... Never had a "Daniels" or a "Dansk" or even a "Dandruff" from seventh through twelfth. So, then Mike and I saw each other each and every morning. (I also sat right behind C. Cook for all those years as well...except when the odd seating arrangement through that off. Mike on the other hand I believe always sat right behind me.)
Later on this year, we were offered -- through the science/social studies classes -- a trip to Toronto. We went to the Ontario Science Center, got to Phantom of the Opera, and visit the Toronto Zoo. Very cool trip. I don't recall hanging with anyone specifically this trip. That was for next year.
